Clamping or workholding is the means by which an object is held in place for further actions, such as machining, to be carried out upon that object. An adjustable vertical clamp (or toggle clamp) holds a workpiece in place by means of vertical downwards forces. Aside from the clamping forces, which are easily adjusted, the vertical clamps are also adjustable with respect to height and/or arm length. The clamp or workholding device itself must hold the object firmly without damaging it. Our vertical clamps are usually available for same-day dispatch from the UK.
Wixroyd’s comprehensive range of machine elements, standard parts, access components and work holding equipment contains a broad selection of sizes in materials including; stainless steel, steel, die cast zinc as well as plastic. Made from aluminium, our mono bloc clamps can be used with our stackable riser elements (10651) to increase the clamping height.
Spacer/riser elements for mono block clamps (10650). Used to increase the clamping height of most of our vertical clamping systems.
Made from aluminium, our piccolo clamps are supplied with hand tool and clamping screw for mounting to machine bed.
Made from aluminium, our duo clamps have a fully adjustable clamping range that can be used with our standard risers.
Made from steel, our maxi block clamps are for very heavy machining. Arm retracts.
Made from case-hardened steel. Offers rapid manual clamping with easy removal of workpieces.
Combining clamping and locking, used to clamp and support additional clamping points on components. Floating clamps minimise vibration during machining.
Separate clamping and locking. Useful for securing additional clamping points on extremely pliable workpieces, whilst minimising deformation. It also serves to reduce vibration during machining.
Vertical-acting toggle clamps. For more information on this family of products, please see this page - or for technical details, see this page.
The unique design of our side clamps enables both lateral and downward forces to be applied to the workpiece. For more clamping solutions, please visit our clamping and workholding page.
