Anti-vibration (or AV) components are crucial for long-term machinery health. Through absorbing movement, mounts, pads, plates and many other components assist in reducing: damage to parts and floors, the loosening of bolts or screws, noise, general malfunctions and in some cases, operator discomfort. Anti-vibration components have both male and female threads and are typically constructed using rubber - for effective vibration absorption - and other durable materials such as steel. AV components are used across a plethora of applications, from industrial machinery and HVAC systems to automotive, marine applications and commercial construction. Anti-vibration mounts and components are incredibly versatile and can easily be incorporated into your designs to increase structural longevity.
There’s a great deal of choice when it comes to selecting an anti-vibration mount or component. Below we’ve listed some of the main types and their typical uses, all of which we stock at Wixroyd. Please contact the team should you have any questions about specific applications.
Our standard anti-vibration mounts are typically secured to the bottom of a machine, creating a flexible barrier that absorbs the vibrational energy. This energy is converted into low-level heat, allowing the mounts to effectively assist in reducing noise and preventing damage. In addition to use on the floor, our mounts may also be used to secure machinery to walls. AV mounts are available in different shapes and sizes and are used across all manner of applications in order to stabilise and prevent damage, from large-scale industrial machinery to delicate electronics.

Anti-vibration cylinders, commonly referred to as bobbins, are typically implemented in generators, compression, and light engineering applications. Through dissipating energy via direct pressure, their design promotes minimal movement to provide stable, precise support while effectively reducing vibrations. They are manufactured in various different shapes, such as standard cylindrical, waisted, and cone, in order to serve
differing applications.

Designed to provide a flexible, cushioning barrier to absorb vibrations, washers offer a crucial connecting mechanical grip across applications such as engines, industrial machinery and HVAC systems. Through absorbing movement and distributing pressure, they keep bolts and screws connected securely, whilst helping to isolate from noise and wear.

Our anti-vibration bushes are used to isolate movement and absorb shock. They minimise vibration between internal and external bores in moving parts, and are most commonly used within suspension systems, generators, compressors and in agricultural machinery. Made of rubber or a combination of metal and rubber, their forgiving materials allow them to
provide effective protection against wear on metal components that twist or pivot.
Rubber on steel. Useful to isolate vibration and reduce noise. The internal bush can move axially, radially, torsionally and pendular. Install by only pushing on external ring when putting into place.
Rubber (hardness - Shore 55 A). Used in a wide range of vibrating machines. Allows high deformation with excellent spring back characteristics. Supports axial and radial loads but not designed for traction or tension loads. For radial loads please contact our technical team.
Rubber on silver zinc plated steel. For applications of major dynamic loads where movement control is necessary, such as in the cabin of all types of mobile vehicles. Offers optimal stability, as well as good attenuation of impacts and vibrations. The double washer mounts are made of two parts of rubber, one of which bears an inside metal bushing which acts as a guide through the machine anchoring screw.
Used underneath a variety of industrial machinery and anti-vibration pads or plates reduce noise and movement. Our range includes squared rubber pads that can be cut to size, a flanged alternative, which can be secured to both the ground and the machinery it supports and various impact plates. Typical uses for AV pads include: under sensitive electronics, gym equipment, HVAC systems and heavy industrial machinery.
